Looking Forward: Innovation and Research

I started thinking about the innovation plan and literature review that I will have to undertake in my next course and realized, I don’t actually subscribe to any educational technology journals.

First, I looked at some example literature reviews from previous DLL students. Then, I went on to find a great list of just of journals here. I think this will provide a good starting point for some of my research. I found 2 interesting publications right away on Design and Technology Education: An International Journal, “Is our education system fit for purpose?” by Tony Ryan looks and “Beyond Programming and Crafts: Towards Computational Thinking in Basic Education” by Sinikka Hannele Pöllänen

I currently teach Art 1 and Digital Communications for the 21st Century at IDEA College Preparatory North Mission. This is my 9th year teaching with a free public charter network and I have worked with grades 6-12.  Before teaching, I worked as a graphic designer and museum educator.

I am the proud/busy mother of 3 sons and a graduate student in the Digital Leading and Learning program at Lamar University.
